The Barefoot Traveler Branding

The Barefoot Traveler approached me with a vision to create a cohesive and engaging brand identity that would resonate with their target audience of solo travelers and families aged 25-50. The aim was to evoke feelings of excitement, adventure, mindfulness, and relaxation. The brand guide encompassed everything from fonts and colours to graphics and logo design, ensuring a comprehensive and easily accessible toolkit for the client.

Creative Approach

The colours chosen for The Barefoot Traveler were:

  • Bright Teal: To evoke feelings of tropical waters and vibrant energy.

  • Navel Blue: To bring in the depth and calmness of the ocean.

  • Coral: To add a touch of warmth and adventure.

  • Black: For text and accent, ensuring clarity and contrast.

These colours were selected to create a sense of excitement and relaxation, perfectly aligning with the brand’s goals.

Brand Colour Selection:

The fonts were carefully chosen to create a harmonious blend of readability and aesthetic flow:

  • Header: A script style font that exudes playfulness and water-like flow.

  • Subheader: A textured handwritten font that balances elegance and organic feel.

  • Body Font: A sans-serif font that makes long texts engaging and easy to read.

Typography:

To ensure accessibility and ease of use for the client, only free resources in Canva were utilized. A collection of tropical vacation-themed visuals were included in the style guide such as:

  • Palm leaves

  • Tropical drinks

  • Passport stamps

  • Suitcases

  • Seashells

  • Beach towels

  • Sandals

  • Waves

All graphics were templated with brand colours to be used in social media posts, brochures, business cards, and other promotional materials.

Style Guide:

Three distinct logo options were presented to the client. After careful consideration, they chose the following design.

The combination of the silhouetted feet, airplane & land masses, and the dashed line elements encapsulated the spirit of adventure and exploration, aligning perfectly with the brand’s identity.
